Mortgages and specialist banking

Buying a home is likely to be the single biggest purchase you’ll ever make. Whether you’re remortgaging, sizing up or down, moving for work or changing your lifestyle, it’s an exciting time – but it can be a stressful one. We’re all under time pressure, so having a financial adviser to guide you through the mortgage maze can really take the weight off your shoulders and give you confidence in your decision.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Managing your cash

Knowing that you have cash reserves ready to cover expenses, should life take an unexpected turn, is part of making sure you’re well prepared and financially protected. Managing that money, in the short to medium term, is key to financial wellbeing.  Let us help you plan your cash holdings or find a temporary ‘home’ for a larger sum such as an inheritance or bonus. Or, if you simply want to take the headache out of finding the best interest rates, we have an appropriate solution.

The SJP Cash Deposit Service powered by Flagstone

Want to make your hard-earned cash savings work harder for you? The SJP Cash Deposit Service, powered by Flagstone, is simple, smart way to track the best interest rates on the market and move your money quickly and securely to take full advantage of the opportunities. Our SJP Cash Deposit Service gives you confidence and control of your cash savings in the following ways:

Maximise the amount of interest you earn – the one-time application sign up gives you access to exclusive rates and hundreds of deposit accounts.

Protect your cash – at a click you can spread your cash assets across multiple banks – so more of your deposits are eligible for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Remortgaging

Do you sometimes worry that the mortgage you started out with doesn’t suit your current situation? Maybe you’d like to reduce your monthly repayments a little? Or perhaps you want to raise some funds to build an extension or put in a new bathroom – or nursery. Remortgaging what you already own can be a useful, practical solution.

We can help manage the remortgaging process from start to finish and offer you a comprehensive range of first charge mortgages from across the market, which lenders make available to mortgage intermediaries. Some of these are exclusive to SJP and are not available on the High Street.

Because we believe in financial advice for the long-term, we’ll look at your complete financial picture. That way we can help you find a mortgage that will suit you now, and in years to come.

Other lending

From time to time, we all find ourselves in the position of needing quick access to some extra cash.

If this sounds like you, I might be able to help you use your St. James's Place and Rowan Dartington* investments as security for a short-term loan (subject to eligibility).

Short-term loans are a popular way of accessing funds that you know you will need for only a short period of time. You might want to:

  • Bridge a residential property purchase
  • Make a one-off tax payment
  • Make a luxury purchase, such as a yacht or classic car
  • Carry out home improvements

St. James's Place and Rowan Dartington work with Metro Bank to make this short-term lending facility available to you, secured against your investment portfolio.

If the value of the investment falls in relation to the agreed loan facility, the loan may need to be repaid in full. Metro Bank will take a charge over your investments and you will be unable to make any withdrawals from your charged investments without prior approval from the bank. Rates and charges will apply. Please get in touch for full details.

Please note that these services are separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place.

*Rowan Dartington is the discretionary fund management and stockbroking arm of St. James's Place, which is wholly owned by the St. James's Place Group, and provides a range of additional, complementary wealth management services.
